New Lady Senator

CAROL LADY HAYNES was yesterday sworn in as Barbados’ newest senator to fill the vacant position left by Tony Marshall, who has been appointed Barbados’ representative to the United Nations.

Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave administered the oath at Government House while Lady Haynes’ sons Richard and Kashka and their wives looked on. Less than an hour later, Lady Haynes was off to the Senate to participate in her first debate.
