Duty to ‘mentor the young’

Barbadians have been urged not to neglect their responsibility to mentor and develop the future leaders of the nation. 

This charge came from Reverend Solomon Odoom, presiding minister of the Hoggard African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Jackson.

He was addressing the Barbados Boy Scouts Founder’s Day Service at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex yesterday to recognise 103 years of the scout movement in Barbados.

“These leadership positions our young ones are holding can be nurtured to become the future leaders of our country, when the leaders of today rope them [under] their wings and begin to mentor them.
