IT’S NOT HOW YOU START. It’s how you finish.

That old adage was given new life at Kensington Oval yesterday, when the Barbadian pair of Shamarh Brooks and Shai Hope both took opportunities presented them to chalk up impressive centuries in the WICB Professional Cricket League match against the Windward Islands Volcanoes.

Barbados Pride were reeling at two runs for the loss of two wickets within 15 minutes of the day’s start, but Hope scored an unbeaten 134, and Brooks made 124 before being run out in his first match of the season, which allowed the Barbados Pride to reach a creditable 287 for three at the close yesterday.
