THE CITY STREETS came alive with the Commonwealth Parade yesterday to mark the 30th anniversary of the Royal Commonwealth Society Barbados Branch.
With the Barbados Cadets Corp bearing the flags of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth, the parade made its way from Constitution Road and travelled along the Wharf Road before passing through Broad Street. It ended outside Parliament Yard.
Members of the Barbados Youth Parliament took a salute before entering the Chamber to debate a resolution on the relevance of the Commonwealth, as well as its merits and demerits.
