TWENTY-YEAR-OLD Ashley Simmons is apparently not missing after all.

Police issued a missing person’s notice for the young woman, who lives at Marchfield Close, Marchfield, St Philip, yesterday, indicating she had left home around 2 p.m. Saturday and had not been seen or heard since.

But after the story was posted on The Nation Barbados’ facebook page, Simmons herself wrote “I home i in missing”.

This sparked a debate, with several people offering advice and even chastising one person who “talk out the girl business”.

Simmons explained: “I went with some friends I tell my mother that I going out with some friends and I in coming back home.”

“Ashley, I feel for the embarrassment that you will have to face, but let it be a lesson, listen to your momma so that she doesn’t do this in the future … if not go and rent somewhere so you can be your own woman,” was the advice she was given by one woman.

Another woman advised her to sort out the misunderstanding with her mother because the next time someone went missing, the general public might not give it the seriousness it deserves. (SAT)
