THE VOICE of Michael Director Forde has fallen silent.

His impact on the local and regional entertainment scene remains for some time, however, thanks to his popular 1985 hit Sousie that took the Caribbean by storm with its vivid lyrics and energetic  rhythms.

Betty Forde, the wife of the multi-talented entertainer told NATION news that the 65-year-old father of three died yesterday at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after battling prostate cancer.

The Mighty Gabby, who said he co-wrote Sousie, was high in praise for the veteran entertainer. (JS)
