MANGO BAY are the champions of the 2015 Diamonds International/Archer’s Hall-sponsored Eight-Goal Barbados Polo Open tournament.
In one of the most one-sided victories for the season, the Mango Bay team of captain Rhys Odle, Luis Clerici, Lucas Nicaloa and the in-form Casmir Gross thrashed the Rubis team of Damian Luke, Jamie Le Hardy, Oliver Taylor and Stuart Gill 8-2 to lift the coveted prize on their third attempt.
Such was the dominance of the Mango Bay team that they quickly raced to a 5-0 lead, moments before the end of the first half, with three of their goals coming from Gross.
Rubis finally opened their scoring through the efforts of Le Hardy when they sneaked one into the back of the bars at the sound of the buzzer. (CH)
