Fire strikes Chapman Street building

FIREFIGHTERS ARE ON the scene of a burning abandoned two-storey building in Chapman Street, St Michael.

Residents said the blaze started about 2:45 p.m. and although they couldn’t say how it started, they told the NATION they saw flames on the top floor.

The building was the subject of a recent newspaper article after residents complained about it being a fire and health hazard. (AC)
