‘Bad’ parents

A WELL-KNOWN ADVOCATE for young people believes parents are to blame for teens running away from home.

In fact, chief executive officer of the Supreme Counselling for Personal Development, Shawn Clarke, is of the view that there are no delinquent children, but rather delinquent parents.

In an interview with the DAILY NATION during a public speaking seminar at Divi Southwinds Resort, Clarke said he knew a number of the runaways personally and his investigations revealed there were a lot of seemingly unmanageble problems in their homes.

These children deserted the homes as a form of “punishment” to their parents so they would open their eyes to what was happening, he said. (SDB Media)
