Concern over heart disease among Bajan women

Share post:

PRESIDENT OF THE Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados Humphrey Metzgen today voiced concern about the large numbers of females suffering from heart disease.

He said that last year some 58 per cent of women fell into this category.  He described the figure as “amazingly high”.

Metzgen blamed lack of physical exercise and unhealthy eating habits for part of the problem of poor health.

He made the comments while addressing the congregation of the People’s Cathedral, where members of the foundation marked the 30th anniversary of the institution. (TY)
