Combermere closed next week for cleaning

THE MINISTRY of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has advised that Combermere School will remain closed next week.

This closure is to allow for continued cleaning of the school at Waterford, St Michael.

The Ministry has put alternative arrangements in place for Fifth and Sixth Form students, who are set to write the CXC CAPE and CSEC examinations. 

Fifth Form students are required to report to Erdiston Teachers’ Training College, Pine Hill, St Michael, Monday at 8:30 a.m. Sixth Form students are asked to report to the College on Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

The Ministry, in conjunction with the Transport Board, will be providing a bus service to transport the students from Combermere to Erdiston Teachers’ Training College each day. Students requiring this form of transportation are asked to assemble at the Combermere School at 8:00 a.m.

All students should walk with a packed lunch.

Meanwhile, teachers and ancillary staff are asked to report to Erdiston Teachers’ Training College on Monday.

The Ministry regrets any inconvenience caused and will continue to update parents and staff of the school on the situation at the Waterford institution. (BGIS)
