First Citizens working with delinquent clients

FIRST CITIZENS BANK will not harass Barbadians who find it difficult to repay secured loans.

New chief executive officer of the Trinidad banking group, Karen Darbasie, and Barbados CEO Glyne Harrison said that even though delinquency is a number, behind the number is a human being and they needed to work with the human being.

Harrison added: “So even though we are still below the industry average as it relates to delinquency by a few percentage points, we still recognise that there will be people that would have found themselves in situations that were not necessarily of their own making. And at the end of the day we have to find the way that best works to get them to another point.” (SC)
