Co-op records steady growth

STEADY MEMBERSHIP GROWTH over the last two years is being reported by the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union Limited (BPWCCUL) as it celebrates 45 years.

Speaking at the anniversary church service at Christ Church Parish Church yesterday, president Glendon Belle said that even during this time of recession, the membership had grown to 73 000 while issues of loan delinquency were at manageable levels.

“Generally speaking in the financial sector, I know that the overall delinquency ratio is rather high. Not thumping our chest, but we have been able to manage our delinquency to . . . levels that we can manage and feel pretty comfortable about,” Belle said. (LK)
