INCLUSION IN THE UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison has so far only paid off in wider recognition for St Mary’s Anglican Church. This satisfies rector Reverend Von Watson for now, but he is optimistic the exposure will bring the church more tangible returns down the road.

Watson said yesterday St Mary’s had been able to gain “some mileage from a tourism perspective”, since the publicity generated by the heritage listing had been drawing visitors to the historic site. The immediate benefit he said had been more goodwill and relationship-building.
