CHILDREN from the local arm of Sport For Life International were recently given a monetary boost towards their development by the British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Victoria Dean.

The presentation was made at Kensington Oval before the third cricket Test between the West Indies and England, and the children were given the opportunity to sit and mingle with the visiting cricketers.

Members of the team were only too keen to answer several questions from the youngsters before taking them on to the Oval grounds for a brief coaching session.

Brenda Pope, chairperson of the organisation, thanked Dean for the generous donation and assured her it would be of tremendous benefit. (CH)
