Woman accused of drug trafficking

A 63-YEAR-OLD Jamaican woman is scheduled to appear in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court today charged with trafficking and importing cannabis into Barbados.

She is Gloria Simpson-Harris who police say arrived by air yesterday.

After being interviewed by police, she was referred to Customs where a search allegedly revealed four packages of cannabis hidden in a false compartment of her suitcase.

The packages weighed five pounds.

Simpson-Harris also faces charges of possession and possession with intent to supply. (PR/NB)
