Mum’s day

IT WAS TRULY a Mother’s Day yesterday as hundreds of phenomenal women who not only gave birth, but were actively involved in the rearing and shaping of children, were honoured.

From churches to hotels and restaurants, beach picnics or even lunch at home, there were special tokens and treats for the dear mothers.

There was a bumper response at Hilton Barbados where about 98 per cent of the approximately 700 people having lunch were locals. This was up from the 475 who dined there last year. The breakfast crowd was reportedly large as well.

General manager George Stanfield said it was the biggest reception for Mother’s Day in the last three years. (YB)
