Meakins in easy win

MULTIPLE WOMEN’S NATIONAL SQUASH CHAMPION Karen Meakins was among the stars shining on day two of the eighth annual CQS/Jammin International Squash Masters at Marine Courts.

Meakins, playing among the men in the over-35s to get tougher opposition, had a straight-sets win over Trinidadian Gowkaran Bissoon 11-3, 11-3, 11-1.

Statistically, the game between Boris Herzi of the United States and Barbadian Brian Lowe had tongues wagging as they slugged it out over five entertaining sets.

In the end Herzi came out tops 11-5, 11-6, 9-11, 7-11, 11-6. (AT)
