THERE WERE VICTORIES for Maple, Carlton, MTW, St Catherine, Pickwick and YMPC as the majority of matches in the first round of the Sagicor General T20 cricket competition were played today at various venues.
However, there was no play at Church Hill, Paragon or Queen’s Park because of the boycott by the secondary schools.
They are protesting a rule by the Barbados Cricket Association which would nullify points won by the school if a player from a school team was selected to represent the Barbados Youth team in the top competitions but opted to turn out for the school.
