DEAR CHRISTINE: Not happy with distant man

Share post:

Dear Christine,

I have been left feeling very uncomfortable about a situation I’m in.

For the past ten months I have been seeing a young man who attends university with me. I really love him and he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that he can trust me.

We used to see each other every night.

It went from that to three times a week and then just once or twice a week. I know we are both studying, but I am not pleased that he does not make more time for us to be together.

I have asked him if he is seeing someone else and he told me “no”.

I have also asked him to tell me where I stand in the scheme of things, but he has not said anything.

What do you think about this and what should I do?

– P.R.

Dear P.R.,

I believe that actions speak louder than words. I am also of the view that this man is silently telling you that the love is over. Don’t feel badly about it and don’t expect him to put it into words. Examinations or no examinations, he should still visit or call more often if time is being spent on examinations.

Stop sitting around waiting for him to appear once a week. Keep up with your studies and start doing things which you enjoy.

– CHRISTINE
