Parent Education Programme at Luther Thorne

THE STUDENT SERVICES Unit of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation will facilitate a Parent Education Programme this Wednesday, May 20, for parents of students attending the Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School, Wildey, St Michael.

It will be held in the conference room of Cooperative General Insurance, Collymore Rock, St Michael, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The theme of the program is Achieving Excellence through Partnership – A Better Parent, A Better Child, A Better School.

The key objectives of this programme are to address the need for improved parenting skills and the building of partnerships between parents and teachers.

Senior education officer Joy Adamson and principal of the Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School Marcia Best will deliver remarks.

Facilitators will include Registrar of the Supreme Court Barbara Cooke-Alleyne; director of PAREDOS Marcia Graham; and social worker Joann Hall. They will speak to issues that include nutrition, as well as legal and psychological aspects of parenting. (BGIS)
