Facelift

IT’S GOING  to be 14 months of long suffering, but it’s for the better.

So said Minister Youth, Sports and Culture, Stephen Lashley, as he officially unveiled plans for the major refurbishment of the Wildey Gymnasium, with the project due to start next April.

The work is being undertaken by the Chinese government at an estimated cost of $19 million.

Lashley said management of the transition period between starting and finishing the refurbishment would be vital, so his ministry would be meeting with the various sporting organisations and others who used the facility to find suitable alternatives.
