Batsmen rule day in T20

TWO CENTURIES were among the highlights of the third round of the Sagicor General T20 Cricket Competition, as batsmen ruled the day.

Today at SJPP, David Carter was unbeaten on 116 to lead Wildey to a five-wicket victory over St Catherine and his brother Jonathan scored 110 in UWI’s 138-run victory over Spartan.

St Catherine’s Omar Phillips was just short of a century with 91 not out, while eight other batsmen scored half centuries.

At Paragon: BDFSP 180 for five in 20 overs (Renaldo Brathwaite 54, Dario Boyce 46, Kemar Brathwaite 25, Jameel Stuart 25; Nkosi Ross 3-36). YMPC 109 for nine in 20 overs (Dario Belle 30, Kemar Smith 16 n.o., Renaldo Brathwaite 3-18, Amir Thomas 2-17). BDFSP won by 71 runs.

At Trents: Ince Transport MTW 90 for nine in 20 overs (Kemio Bynoe 23, Sherwin Campbell 17, Raymond Kellman 15; Khalid Springer 3-6). Maple 94 for six in 19.3 overs (Renaldo Parris 35, Jed Yearwood 22, Don O’Neal 16; Javon Grosvenor 2-6, Kevin Gittens 2-11, Kemio Bynoe 2-14). Maple won by four wickets.

At Church Hill: Christ Church Foundation School 110 for nine in 20 overs (Carlos Maynard 24, Nhamo Winn 23, Joshua Drakes 22; Alex Bridgeman 3-26, Kyle Mayers 2-6, Tariq Shorey 2-18). Lee’s Bistro Carlton 114 for three in 13.5 overs (Alex Browne 63, Lee Germon Gaskin 23 n.o.; Winston Worrell 2-13). Carlton won by seven wickets.

At Weymouth: BRC Electronics on Edge BCL 109 for seven in 20 overs (Devon Goodman 31, Antonio Millar 23, Dave Clarke 22; Stefan Gooding 3-21, Ravendra Persaud 2-14). Police 110 for three in 19.1 overs (Dwayne Yearwood 48 not out, Roger Williams 32). Police won by seven wickets.

At Friendship: Counterpoint Wanderers  154  for seven in 20 overs  (Jason Greene 60 (6x4s, 1×6), Diego Stuart 36, F. De Villiers 27, D. Thorne 2-43). IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire 154 for four in 20 overs (A. Nero 74 n.o. (7×4, 1×6), A. Connell 46, A. Best 17). Super Over: Yorkshire 3-0. Wanderers 6-0. Wanderers won in Super Over.

At Cane Garden: ESAF Pickwick 186 for seven in 20 overs (Kyle Hope 86 (11x4s, 4x6s), Jared Gilkes 32, Rohan Ryan 22, Jamal Phillips 17, Craig St Hill 12; Chemar Holder 2-32, Deswin Currency 2-41). Guardian General Barbados Youth 102 for four in 20 overs (Khalil Herbert 30 n.o., Shaquane Cave 25, Zachary McCaskie 21). Pickwick won by 84 runs.
