PRIME MINISTER FREUNDEL STURAT is holding the LIAT files close to his chest.

When asked yesterday if Barbados was contemplating starting its own regional airline, the Prime Minister offered little apart from a smile.

“We [regional heads] met yesterday as shareholders, and we took a conscious decision not to engage the press after that meeting because we are at a fairly delicate stage in a transition of LIAT,” Stuart said while touring BMEX at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday.

“We do not want to say anything that might compromise that transition. I said nothing yesterday, and I say nothing again today.” (BA)
