Big names for today’s run-offs

RACING ENTHUSIASTS are once again in for a special treat in the Saleh and Khaija Mohamad Memorial Trophy condition race over 2 200 metres today at the Garrison Savannah.

Not only will it be a true test of stamina, but the race will also see the most dominant creoles over the last two years in the Triple Crown Classics – Nekitta, Knight Rider and Voldemort – confront the imported Daunting David, who finished second in this year’s Gold Cup. Without hesitation the creoles have the edge going into the day’s seventh race. 

In 2013, Nekitta won the Barbados Guineas and the Midsummer Classic before her quest for a sweep of the classics was thwarted by Knight Rider in the Derby while Voldemort won last year’s Derby.
