BL&P reports drop in profits

THE BARBADOS LIGHT & POWER Company’s (BL&P) profit and that of its regional parent, Emera Caribbean, are both down.

The BL&P’s fell by nearly $4 million last year when compared with 2013. That is, from $43.4 million to $40.6 million, while Emera Caribbean’s dropped by $3.1 million – from $54.2 million in 2013 to $51 million in 2014.

The losses were revealed at the BL&P’s annual general meeting on Wednesday, June 3, at The Island Inn.
