PUDDING & SOUSE: Age beats out youth

WHO GOT THE JOB?

This is the question a lot of people who attended an interview recently are asking. The question as to who got the job has arisen because it is now being whispered all over a nature island.

A Sisserou parrot was recently heard trying to repeat what he had overheard and said quite clearly that someone will be coming here for a big post.

The talkative parrot said now that a smiling Billy had decided to gallop off, this would be the ideal time for this person to go to the land of the silent one. But it would not be any work with the silent one but with a trustworthy group.

What has created a lot of anger is that the personage is not 50, but reportedly three score and a little more.

Admittedly, the personage is very well qualified and has even had some years of reading Latin and history, while taking in the fresh East Coast breezes. But, a number of young lads and lasses feel that one of them should be given the chance to give their stamp of excellence as they prove their worth.

Things must no longer be done because of being well connected and exhibiting a disposition which shows you are always happy and gay. But then, birds of a feather flock together, unlike the Sisserou, which is at times a dumb parrot and keeps repeating that he’s going to church.

Betrayed by Inches

WHO IS SPEAKING on behalf of whom? And who gave permission to whom to send off that now infamous letter.

A group of men and women who have always indicated they will not take any polygraph tests are angry with a gentleman they keep referring to as Inches.

This fellow Inches has apparently told a fellow often seen in Martin’s Bay that all’s almost well. To prove his point he gave what some are calling a letter of comfort. So even if the group of men and women are vex, there cannot be too much backtracking. So they have asked another fellow from St John, whose hobby is fixing technical things, and a woman from Christ Church, who likes to go to church every Sunday morning, to help them.

It is not certain how much can be done now. The interesting thing is whether there will be unity among them.

Fools in love

A MAN, madly in love, can also be a man who is a complete fool.

Such seems to be the case with a well known shopkeeper who has a foreign woman who has been causing pure headaches for him in his St Michael neighbourhood.

The latest bit of bacchanal took place a few weeks ago when the woman’s two other men had a noise right outside the shopkeeper’s place of business.

The hurtful part is that all three men live on the same street where all this drama took place. People who know what has been happening say if she had stayed in the village where she was living and never moved to her current location, then she might have gotten away with her dirty dealings.

The shopkeeper and one of the other lover boys used to be very close friends, but this love mess has caused a lot of bad blood. The shopkeeper is even blaming his long-time former pal for some money that has gone missing.

Most people know the money has gone to pay for the jewellery the woman is wearing and the poultry she sells. Love really does make men do strange things.
