JOSEPH LEO CALLENDER is a genius in the making – a musical genius.
More specifically, the 23-year-old is a jazz saxophonist with over 12 years’ experience entertaining audiences in Barbados and the wider world. Yet, he is more than that. He plays alto, tenor and soprano saxophone and the flute proficiently. He also plays the piano, guitar bass and drum kit.
That he has mastered the art of music and can play so many instruments is evidence that his musical gifts and talents will take him places.
Above all else, the one place Callender has his eyes set on going by September, is Humber College, Toronto, Canada, to pursue a degree in music. He has spent the past several months raising funds but it has not been an easy road for the former Foundation School student.
“My dream is to be a saxophonist- teacher, taking part in business studies, marketing, orchestral writing and seeing myself fulfilling a whole lot of different roles.
