KINGSTON – It was a long, hard struggle for the West Indies yesterday, but Jason Holder was the shining light at the end of the tunnel against Australia at Sabina Park.

His audacious yet assured batting effort in the first innings is what he is hoping to replicate whenever he bats again in this match, as the West Indies, set 392 to win, were 16 for two by the close of the third day.

Holder’s unbeaten knock of 82 was not enough to get the West Indies close to Australia’s 399 in the first innings, but such is his confidence in the team that he is backing himself and the side to be competitive.
