Call for clarity

CLEAR THE AIR on significant issues to make the Budget relevant.

That’s economist Ryan Straughn’s challenge to Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler, who will present the Financial Statement And Budgetary Proposals today in the House of Assembly from 4 p.m.

The economist and former president of the Barbados Economic Society told the DAILY NATION that given the current situation in the country, “it would be disingenuous of me professionally” to have hopes of tax cuts or anything of the sort.

Therefore, he would like Sinckler to address a number of issues in his presentation to provide greater clarity to Government’s intentions. (SP)
