More for some BHL products by August

BARBADIANS will be paying more for sweetened soft drinks and juices come August 1.

Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) chief executive officer Richard Cozier said this was the definite outcome following Monday’s Budget announcement of a ten per cent “special excise” on these beverages. It would affect “a large portion” of BHL’s products, including Frutee, Coke, Sprite and some juices.

BHL is Barbados’ largest drinks company and includes Barbados Bottling Co. Ltd, Pine Hill Dairy, Banks (Barbados) Breweries Limited, and Banks Distribution Ltd.
