St James students entertain Sir Elliott

IT WAS THE turn of students and staff at St James Primary School to host Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave yesterday.

As has become the standard at all the schools, Sir Elliott heard the school’s version of his favourite song The Ash Grove. A poem/acrostic using his name and several other pieces was prepared especially for him and the other invited guests, who included past students and principals.

Sir Elliott encouraged students to stay away from drugs, respect their parents and teachers, and generally strive for excellence.
