BARBADOS LOST the opening match of their three-game netball series against Jamaica tonight at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.
After a poor start where Barbados Gems only managed five goals in the opening quarter, they lost the match 55-22 to Jamaica.
Barbados trailed all quarters 12-5, 27-9 and 37-16.
No individual shooting statistics are available.
Barbados started with Shonica Wharton (goal shooter); Sheniqua Thomas (goal attack); Sabreena Smith (wing attack); Latonia Blackman (centre); Shanice Rock (wing defence); Rhe-Ann Niles (goal defence) and Shonette Bruce at goal keeper.
Both teams are preparing for the Netball World Cup in Australia this August.
The second match in the series will be played tomorrow night at the same venue. (SAT)
