Tough hurdles battle expected

THE SPOTLIGHT will be in the fast lane at the National Athletics Championships this weekend.

There’s speculation about nail-biting finishes, for instance, in the men’s 100 metres and 110-metre hurdles in the three-day meet which starts at 5:30 p.m. today at the National Stadium.

Ramon Gittens, who has done a personal best of 10.19 seconds this season, should start as favourite but he says he will be focusing on his lane and not necessarily the main competition which should come from Levi Cadogan and Mario Burke.
