Ellis, Bailey take 200m at Nationals

AFTER BEING on a high for winning the men’s 100 metres title, Levi Cadogan was singing the blues less than 24 hours after.

Cadogan false-started in the preliminaries of the 200 metres and missed the chance of gaining the double crown.

In his absence, the race was taken by Burkheart Ellis on a day when persistent, and at times heavy showers, made conditions testing for the athletes.

Ellis clocked 20.68 seconds as he held off a strong challenge from second placed Nicholas Deshong, who did the trip in 20.79 seconds. Anderson Devonish was third in 21.44 seconds.
