Sweet Beats end City Fest

THE CURTAIN CAME DOWN on the First Citizens Crop Over City Fest And Ceremonial Delivery Of The Last Canes with a Sweet Beats Of Bridgetown concert in Heroes Square on Saturday night.

As was the case with all the other activities throughout the day, the concert was not as entertaining or patronised as last year’s.

However, the variety on stage still made for a plausible cultural package, set against the background of the historic Parliament Buildings. Drizzling rain had threatened to put a damper on the night.

Songstress Paula Hinds led a soulful, witty jazz session. She paused in between songs to interact with the crowd. She was ably accompanied by Kellie Cadogan, Aisha Butcher and Nikesha Charles. (TTY)
