HYPASOUNDS, Lil Rick and King Bubba FM were popular choices when the finalists for Soca Royale were announced early this morning at Kensington Oval.
Hypasounds earned a pick in both Sweet Soca and Party Monarch with his hits Sugar Rush and How She Like It, respectively.
Lil Rick, making a return to competition, and King Bubba FM also got the nod for the Party Monarch Finals. All three were met with screams of approval from the crowd at The Oval.
Edwin Yearwood, who is also back after a break, is among the Sweet Soca finalists with Party Ah De Year.
The news was not all good for the Soka Kartel duo, competing as individuals this year.
MR Blood is in both competitions, but Mikey did not make the cut for the Sweet Soca. He is among those vying for the Party Monarch title.
Gorg is the reigning Party Monarch, while Biggie Irie is Sweet Soca King.
Soca Royale will be staged at Bushy Park on July 26.
