CARIBBEAN GOVERNMENTS, at odds over whom to support for Secretary General of the Commonwealth, have been told to back Sir Ronald Sanders.
The call has come from the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC), whose president Ramesh Dookhoo said the Guyana-born Antigua citizen has the support of the majority of executive members of the Trinidad-based CAIC, and they want regional leaders to follow suit.
At the moment, heads are meeting at Hilton Barbados and this hot button issue is expected to be among the matters they will make a decision on within the next few hours.
Baroness Patricia Scotland, a lawyer who was born in Dominica and lives in Britain is the other candidate being considered. She reportedly has the support of Barbados. (GE)
