THOUGH BLIND in one eye and set back by a hearing impairment, a young secondary school student is determined to pursue his dream of becoming a cartoon comic book artist and writer.

Sixteen-year-old Nico Wilson, a student of Frederick Smith Secondary School and former Christ Church Boys’ pupil, has found drawing to be a special talent. He described his gift as not only being a source of fun but also a way for him to make other people happy.

Wilson, of Silver Hill, Christ Church, told the MIDWEEK NATION he enjoyed drawing objects, people, three-dimensional figures and, of course, cartoon characters. With this, the teen said he wanted to become an author of a comic publication, and create colouring books for children as well as newspaper cartoons.
