PILE BAY, St Michael residents make it a practice to come together on the last Sunday in every month to host a beach party.

The activities include football, board games, paddle races and other fun events that serve to draw members of the community together and foster an environment of camaraderie.

Organiser Akela Chapman said last Sunday’s fun-filled day also included competitions in tug o’ war and swimming, which offered bragging rights for some households and groups.

“We have some sponsors from within the area who support us and help us to celebrate the theme of Keeping Our Community Together.”

There was plenty of lobster, crab and other fish on offer, along with food and drink; while music was supplied by DJ Sticky who helped to maintain the party mood. (RL)
