RICHARD TERRELONGE had actually landed the light plane he was piloting – at least at first.

Speaking to the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday from his Dover, Christ Church home, the experienced sea plane pilot of about 30 years said the problem had actually occurred the second time around, after crash landing on a field along Gibbons Boggs on Sunday morning.

“As a pilot, you have to stay in practice so I rented a plane to practise. In practising my landings, I landed at the airport, then took off again but the second time coming around I found I was too low,” he said.

This was not a problem for the 72-year-old, whose training kicked in, automatically making the correct adjustments.
