SEVEN OF BARBADOS’ top junior track and field athletes will face the best in the region later this weekend at the Pan American Junior Track and Field Championships in Edmonton, Canada.
Tia-Adana Belle and Mario Burke are the class acts in a small but highly talented team.
Also on the squad for the July 31 to August 2 championships are Sada Williams, Tristan Evelyn, Rivaldo Leacock, Stephen Griffith and Dequan Lovell.
Belle just recently equaled her personal best of 57.45 seconds to win the women’s 400 metre hurdles at last month’s National Championships. That time puts her at seventh in the world among juniors, and third-best of those entered to run at the championships.
