THE RASH OF shootings continued last night with the latest one taking place on Spring Garden Highway.

Reports said two rival gangs clashed near Weisers Beach Bar leaving one man, who was termed an innocent bystander, injured.

The man, whose name was not released, was hit in his right ankle and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, said Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch.

Police blocked the highway as they scoured the street for evidence of the gunplay. A pair of slippers remained in the centre of the road. One man said the clash appeared to be the work of rival gangs. (HLE/LK/CA)
