THE GOVERNMENT of Barbados has awarded 27 Scholarships and 25 Exhibitions to students who excelled in the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations and the Associate Degree programme of the Barbados Community College (BCC).
This was revealed this evening in a statement released by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
Queen’s College received the majority of scholarships, with 15 students being awarded. They are: Zaria Blackett, Saedeo Yard, Celina Burke, Ryan Thomas, Danielle Herbert, Erica Jordan, Aren Small, Aleish Anderson, Leisl Brewster, Bianca Boyce, Dherisha Lashley, Sasha McDowell, Chad Simmons, Chanda Mwansa and Eamon Rawlins.
That school also earned 14 Barbados Exhibitions, which went to: Marqueta Haynes, Rashad Lapez, Erin Stephany, Adiel Alleyne, Denique Lovel, Daquan Barrow, Andrew Clarke, Jacob Cuke, Sabnna DaSilva, Jared Jackman, Melissa Brathwaite, Shanice Ashby, Shannon Gibson and Chenise King.
Eleven students from Harrison College were also awarded Scholarships. They are: Stephie Agard, Aaliyah Alleyne-Smith, Tremayne Craigg, Kyle Griffith, Chloe Harvey-Read, Kamau Bridgeman, Khristen Lowe, Kameisha Maynard, Alana Clarke, Zakiyyah Nana and Edward Okey.
The eight exhibition winners from that institution are: Sean Gloumeau, Nathan Clairmonte, Daniel Devonish, Jaec Emtage-Cave, Amber Evelyn, Mckayla Nurse, Camille Springer and Brian Wood.
BCC student, Cherise Griffith, was also awarded a Barbados Scholarship, while three other students from that institution, Makeda Edmee-Kelly, Musa Degia and Jendayi Worrell, received Exhibitions. (BGIS)
