Camps sign off with talent show

THE CURTAINS have come down on this year’s National Summer Camp programme held at various locations over five weeks.

The closing ceremony, hosted at the Barbados Community College (BCC) yesterday, was a showcase of talent by campers.

John Hollingsworth, principal youth development officer in the Division of Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Culture said: “I think that we were able to run a successful camp period this year given all the challenges we would have experienced in the past.”

Hollingsworth said there were 43 camps; eight focused on cultural activities with two focused on business ventures which sought to create entrepreneurial skills in the 13 to 15 age group.
