Gun, drug accused remanded

A 22-YEAR-OLD student has been remanded to HMP Dodds after appearing in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court today.

Suleman Ayyub Ekalvaya, of George Street, Belleville, St Michael was not required to plead to having a firearm without a valid licence along with nine rounds of ammunition without a permit. He is also charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and trafficking the illegal drugs.

The charges all allegedly took place on Saturday, August 8.

Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant adjourned the matter until September 11.

Ekalvaya was represented by attorney Naomi Lynton who is also appearing with Andrew Pilgrim. (GBM)
