Artistes taking songs to world stage

THE CROP OVER festivities are over, but for some local soca artistes, the beat goes on.

Popular performers Red Plastic BagHypasounds and Edwin Yearwood are taking their talents to the world stage.

Barbados’ most crowned calypsonian RPB, winner of the 2015 Peoples’ Monarch title with his hit Spontaneous and who placed third in both the Road March and Sweet Soca competitions will be performing in New York for Labour Day and also at Miami’s carnival.

He will also be performing at events across United States from September until December. His planned show for after the Crop Over festival will be held at a later date.

Sweet Soca winner Edwin Yearwood has already started touring. He is slated to hit Anguilla, Montreal and then Europe. Afterwards he will head to the studios to work on a project for VP Records, which is famous for working with a number of Jamaican artistes.

Hypasounds, who placed third in the Party Monarch competition, begins his tours next week with Boston, then Florida and New Jersey as well as Toronto, Canada.

King Bubba FM is ready to Mash Up venues as his first stop is Toronto next Saturday, then Miami then to London for Notting Hill Carnival then to New York for Labour Day, September 6. After Labour Day he heads back to Miami before making his last stop in Boston. (RG)
