BARBADOS RECORDED a second win at the Netball World Cup in Australia and will now play rapidly improving African team Zambia for 13th place today.
Last night, Barbados defeated Singapore 56-39 to avoid playing for the last two places in the competition.
Goal shooter Shonica Wharton got a rest, and it was Faye Sealy who led the scoring with 43 from 39 attempts. Nikita Piggott added 12 from 15 and Sheniqua Thomas scored the other goal.
Charmaine Soh led Singapore with 28 from 34 attempts.
Meanwhile, the status quo will remain the same at the top, with New Zealand and Australia again meeting for the gold medal match. New Zealand defeated England 50-39 and Australia staved off a determined Jamaica 67-56.
In other results, Samoa edged Fiji 54-51 and Trinidad and Tobago needed extra time to see off Scotland 57-56. Zambia defeated winless Sri Lanka 70-36, South Africa beat Uganda 50-40 and Malawi disposed Wales 70-52.
