PM praises BDF for keeping country safe

THERE CAN be no real and sustained development without the existence of a safe, secure and stable environment.

And Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has credited the soldiers of the Barbados Defence Force with contributing “to this enduring national endeavour”.

The Prime Minister was addressing the Barbados Defence Force 36th anniversary parade at the Paragon, Christ Church base yesterday.

He noted it was “universally accepted” that national security was an “inescapable responsibility of the modern state if it is to safeguard its interests and promote and project its values in order to secure and sustain prosperity and development for its people”.
