Gunmen ‘menaces’

BARBADIANS SHOULD NOT WAIT for a foreign investor to tell them that the country has a problem with crime, says outspoken Minister of International Business Donville Inniss.

Inniss, while conceding that Barbados had a problem with crime, warned that locals should not bury their heads in the sand and pretend otherwise.

The minister also advised young people who use guns to solve their problems not to look to him for sympathy because they would not be getting any.

Reacting to a question as to how the current spate of crime would impact on investor confidence, Inniss said he was not only going to speak as a minister but as a parent and parliamentary representative.
